Today is my first day in my new position as Sr. Web Developer.
I haven't got a clue as to what I should be doing.
I've moved to my new cube, unpacked most everything I'll need, changed my voicemail greeting, etc..
Now what?
My new boss isn't here and won't be until next week.

When I got the web developer job that I am now trying to get out of my life, there was zero documentation and no real supervision for the first three weeks. I spent a lot of time on ebay. Now my ebay addiction is at least functional and the site got finished and everyone's happy. But those first three weeks, I was absolutely certain someone was going to notice I was collecting a check for surfing and fire me. Since then, a year and a half later, they now pay me 33% more to do the same web surfing.
Web development work comes in swells. When the stress comes, and it will, it will happen all at once and then abate just as quick. If you'd like, you can play around in illustrator to fill the time. Technically, its your job now. Time to learn those advanced functions you thought were only for professionals.

That sounds like a workable plan to me.
I’ll be known as Vector Man™ from here on out.

You also need to develop a plan to implement/ strengthen security/ deploy some app that pisses off a large group of employees. Now that you're IT, its our job! Welcome to the Loathed Side.

Ya, just make sure it's not the engineering group of employees that get the shitty app. Marketing however........
