The wheels are in motion

My secret plan to rule the world with an iron fist begins today!

The final hurdle has been cleared and I am now running with it.

Confused? I'll say more later :-)

I can't wait to find out about your iron-fisted enterprise (hmm, that sounds funny).

Good luck whatever it is, sounds like it took a lot of persistence.

It has... and now I have to talk to my boss.

I'm applying for the position of Senior Web Developer within the company. I seriously want this job (and from the sounds of it... I have it).

I guess that I'll be sitting close to you soon, moe (unless, of course, my manager kills me when I walk into her office with the transfer slip... which I have to do shortly).

Hmm, understand. That visit sounds like a stomach knot waiting to happen.

Very cool about the possibility. And you'll then get a side-bonus of seeing a little bit of sunlight from your cube!

I'd hazard a guess the midnight calls would stop happening too, then. That would have to be attractive.

Yes on all accounts.

I spoke to my boss... she was unbelievably cool about everything. I guess I got myself all worked up over nothing.

Next step: turn in the paperwork to HR and wait (and wait, and wait).

I gave you shit about the anti-climax of this announcement, but really, I'm extremely happy for you. Congratulations on pursuing your bliss. You certainly deserve a little by now.

Same place, different cube.

Hope you enjoy the new spot. Maybe we can start doing lunch again sometime eh? :)

The cafeteria is starting to get old.

What I want to know is: will your cell phone reception be any better in the new spot?

Yes.

I can now go 2 days without plugging it in (though I still plug it in every night).

I'm excited about the new job... it starts in 3 weeks. Of course that means I only have 3 weeks to train other people on how to do my job. This means writing TONS of documentation, "day in the life", etc.

Should be fun!
