And once again, in the "I desperately need a sandwich" catagory, I present you with this lovely image from that site:

You realize these are girls probably too young to have been "My Little Pony" fans the first time around...

The models or the shoes? You know you want pink shoes that are totally impractical and you can't really walk in either! heehehehe.

*Looks at Mmeowgrl in shock and amazement, wondering if she really thought anyone could mistake Manolo for non-stylish, then realizes that it IS Mmeowgrl, who knows better*
The models, silly! Don't they know stick-thin is over?

I don't recall models ever being so thin, that you could mistake them for ana - even Kate Moss. This must be a new trend.

I used to have a thing for Kate Moss but it was all about her face and her attitude and not her body. I'm really not into her as much as I used to be but she does remind me of Shirley Manson from Garbage (who's WAY hotter). But you know after she had her kid Kate put some weight on and it looks good on her.

Yeah, the band was nothing to do with the video and refuse to comment when asked about it. It's so completely against the character of the band. I think Kate took one of those pole dancing classes that are all the rage in L.A. and her pal Sophia decided to do a video of her workout routine.
Why some women want to look like that astounds me. I try not to judge them because its no more justifiable than judging heavier women under that same criteria, but I hate the notion that some weaker-minded women hold themselves up to standards of any media image.
Ultimately, I don't blame Kate or the models. They want to work. I blame (again) an advertising industry that keeps the lifestyle carrot on a stick just far enough from you so you chase it while lining their pockets.
I sure hope our culture gets a little smarter.

i blame nothing other than circumstance. does life imitate art or vice versa? who knows? but what I do know is that before Twiggy most people had a central concept of what beauty was and it included well-curved proportions, i mean people who liked skinny women were considered odd for the longest time ("closest to the bone, sweater is the meat" anyone remember that one?). but then someone came along that looked just like a coat rack, and designers realized that they could attatch their designs to someone who hopefully would draw less attention from the clothes than the more meaty women. now who started finding this beautiful? i'm not sure, but i think that as media exposed us to these images the population got saturated with them and thus the general opinons of the public changed. it's not an evil plot of the media to spread bulemia.

Not bulemia. Diet products. Not the media. Advertising and industry.
Not paranoid. They admit it.

Have you ever looked at the titles on the covers of womens magazines? They have "10 great diet tips" next to "5 yummy chocolate cakes" It's enough to make you crazy.
