I have lived in Spokane for 22 years.

Not one time have I participated in Bloomsday beyond drinking beer at 7 in the morning and throwing corn chips at the runners from my apartment balcony.

For those who have no idea WTF Bloomsday is: It's the worlds largest individulay timed race. ~80 thousand stupid people from around the world show up and run down the street.

It's chaos (and the streets of downtown are effectively impassable for half the day)>

You know Bio, that's why I love ya, your wonderfully positive look on the world. And so I shall call you "Mr. Happy Pants" for the rest of the day... or until I'm bored and/or forget about it.

Oh, and this will be my 5th "running" (read: walking, at times briskly). So does that make me 5 times as stupid??

Hell no. I loved Bloomsday. I did bitch about trying to get downtown during one of the events. The Anticap and I were in search of a guitar for the CappyCap and in the process, had a great deal of difficulty trying to get to the many instrument stores downtown.

But I loved Bloomsday and also the fact that Spokane was one of the few cities cool enough to perform rites of spring (even if thats a big group run). Someday I think I might like to come back and participate in it.

Possibly a bit of teen angst showing through?

What makes you believe that you should have some of it?

I've run it once, walked it once and handed out water cups multiple times.

Bloomsday brings in massive dollars for Spokane. In fact, in 2004 it brought in over 9 million dollars to the city.

As for the "I don't want to help people" attitude, I sure hope you don't ever expect anyone to help you.

Of course, you probably don't need any help. You are after all a teenager. :)
