Grokster gives it up.
Of course, they still have to pay $50 million in damages.
They plan on bringing themselves back, like the phoenix from the flame, as a pay to play service.
Good luck.

Everybody I know is starting their own pay to play service. Seriously, who would look at this market and say, "Yeah, I can carve out a piece of that pie. Sure my users have chosen my product in the past because they could get stuff for free, but I think that they chose me over other paying services says they're ready to pay me money."
Never used the piece of crap. From my brief experience with the other one, that came after Napster (and whose name I cannot even recall), most P2P apps are now populated with preteens looking for JustinUsherLake or whatever. Those looking to get their hands on more than the latest trendy Top 40 crap already know where to get their stuff and its likely a place the RIAA wouldn't even know to look.
But its cute how these companies always think they're gonna get a fair shot in front of the courts.

It's not like there was no precidence for this kind of thing.
As for life after sudden death, the only way it'll work is to sell the name to someone else for cash and let them deal with building a new "pay for music you don't own" site.
Seriously... Napster is living proof that life after death sucks donkey dicks.
Sideways.
