Well today I went down to SCC and got my books. OMG! Expensive. A whole $240...and I haven't even gotten my last two books because they weren't on the shelf. Also...I bought 2 used books. I don't know if we can afford this every 3-4 months.

Ahhh.... so they're open.

I'm trying to get my lazy ass son to get ready... we're heading down there shortly.

Good to know on the cost. Guess it's time to sell plasma.

I had to buy them every semester (twice a year at GU) so early fall and mid winter sucked. Wait until you try to "sell them back" heh, that's a joke. The goal was always to try and get enough for a large pizza. Sometimes we did it, sometimes we didn't :)

Heh. Yeah that's why I think I am going to post something first asking if somebody want to buy the book from me at 50% the price of the bookstore.

heck books cost on average $70 each in my part of the world. stop moaning. mabey "mary had a little lamb" would be more appropriate guys? about $1? :)

i agree though. and out of the 10+ books advised the exam etc seems to revolve around the one that cost $5.

I am moaning because my family does not have the money as it is. But it sure beats the hell out of paying the tuition.

You could always go into art as a major. People who make work in traditional media, like painting and sculpture go through at least $200 worth of meterials per semester in addition to the armload of pricey art history books that go with the academic classes.

Not that being in a non-traditional media works any better for me. I'll be purchasing a HD camera next semester. Price tag for that? Before the upgrades to my mac that will come with it? $2000.

Its a good thing I plan to be a Professor and not just an artist.

I am going to need a lot of math and science. But I have to take my basics first. But since I was in honors classes these get both Highschool and college credit. w00t!
