Bio's Law

Post by bio » Fri Jul 08, 2005 10:08 am

Bio's law is in effect.

It reads:

If a server comes to the end of lease and there is no reason to keep any data other than than a database export:
  • Two weeks later the customer will request all data from the previous year
  • You will not be able to get to the data unless to re-create the entire server
  • They will request the data be sent in an export from the software package that was used and not directly from the database.
  • The software package that was used will be a complete bitch to set up, it's instalation disks will have dissapeared, and you will discover that the backups that were run have either failed or were run on the wrong hard drive.
kill me please, mkths!
