The Toast of God
I personally like the idea that god might be alive and well and communicating through our toasters. From my point of view, I like to think that god has a Kafka-esque sense of humor. And the evidence is so over-whelming to that end.

Naaah, it was the toaster demons sent to lead mankind astray:
- I have a job for you, minion.
- Huh?
- I wish to be amused by the gullibility of humans. Have a group infest the toasters of select Americans, and give them the hungries for toast just as they are about to see the Michael Jackson trial verdict.
- Ok, and then?
- Draw pictures of Mr. Jackson, write "Not Guilty", etc., then watch Ebay go crazy!
- Yess, Master! LOL!
- MWAAA-HAA-HAAAAAA!!!!!
...All that being said, I agree that God has a sense of humor - look at us!

Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.
