No, not yet. And it really is improbable for the next couple of years at least.
If I get a cat now, it limits my travel abilities and I pay $25/month pet rent which is greater than the narrow margin I have skated by some months.
Further, I really have puppy fever right now and am desperately trying to hold off the desire to get one.
And then there's the fact that Salomé was the best cat I've ever met and any other would invariably fail to measure up... making me the worst cat owner ever.
Best not to get myself into a cat at this point.

I have a dog that I have to get rid of.
Her name is Chloe, she's 2 years old, loves kids, cats, and is very playful and gentle.
Unfortunately, she's part rottweiler and my homeowner's insurance raised my rates about 50%. They want her gone or they'll drop me.
Anyone want a doggy?

Totally understand... we loved our El Gee more than we should have. Even today, the wife will be loving on El Bee (the new one) and as she starts to feel the love flow, it reminds her of the great missing one and she will be in tears for hours....
You will know what to do... I would suggest though that part of the reason Salome was so good to you was because of YOUR relationship with her (him?).. I.E. I would not be surprised to find out that if you do get another critter, you would bond again and the experience would be worth it again... That's what we found out anyway.

I totally believe that at the core. Just want to make sure the circumstances are best suited to making that possible.

We got her from the pound when she was about 4 or 5 months old. The previous owner hadn't cropped her tail and she was too old to have it done (without a tremendous amount of pain), so she's got a big waggy one. Her previous owner did, however, beat her.
It took a long time to build up her trust. Just walking through the house with something in my hand would make her shirk down. After a couple years of love she's finnaly gotten over that and trusts pretty much anyone who's invited into the house.
She's a love monger.

She is a wonderful dog! I was considering taking her but my dog, Kokanee is over 8 years old and she is starting to get arthritic. I think that she would be to much for her to handle.
Anyone looking for a Pre-owned dog couldn't go wrong with her. She is a true sweet-heart.
