Hey Miftah - Audio Production Question....

Post by bugfreezer » Tue May 17, 2005 11:46 am

Hi, what sort of recording equipment do you use and how many tracks do you process?

I am coming up with an idea for our next-gen recording production stuff for our church and I was wondering what you use.

Thanks!

My setup is pretty simple. I run a four-track Numark mixing console into an Alesis Microverb effects processor into the line-in jack on a standard, AWE-64 sound card on an old 233. Nothing fancy at all.

Software for recording and mixing is Goldwave for specialized waveform editing, and Voyetra Digital Orchestrator for mixing. I've not run into its limitations for number of tracks yet. I've had songs with over 50.

I've played with the more versatile apps, but haven't seen a good reason to change up what I work with yet. I like the simplicity in the software I use. But I get more and more tempted all the time. Especially since my system is all about 6-7 years old on every level. I just happen know it very well and comfort is more important to me than gadgetry.

I'll lose my geek card for saying that. But its true.
