I was searching through EBAY (on Roadrunner) and found THIS clock.

I wrote the guy and sure enough, he had snatched a picture of my car, right off my web site and put it on a clock face!

I feel like a new father!

Oh and speaking of EBAY and cars, my avitar is my latest and greatest 72 Plymouth Roadrunner! How about a State Patrol version?

I would think that would be only fair! I was trying out the Bio pain special (you know Vicodan) when I found out the problems of using EBAY while under the influence.

I did a search on ROADRUNNER and on about page 17 of 32, I saw a blue Roadrunner on a clock. I said "SHIT, I gotta have that, it looks a lot like my car!"

Next morning I noticed the reason it looked so close is that it IS my car. I would love to have it FREE of course, but damn .. I am pretty sure all the pics on my site are legally public domain as I have NOT made any announcements to the contrary.

Bio told me that the best I could do even with a copyright notice is have my lawyers beat violaters up with cheese sticks...

Well, you can notify eBay that he's using stolen materials to create products for sale on their website. By orginating the materials, you automatically own the copyright. The only loophole would be if you hadn't presented a clear statement of who owned the copyright and given that the pic is on your website, I'd say that's pretty irrefutable.

Anyway, eBay is very sensitive to stolen goods showing up on their site. If he doesn't play ball (and lets be honest here, i doubt he's making a mint on these clocks), turn him in to eBay and they will remove his ability to make a buck there... off of your photo anyway.

It might be up to you to prove its your photo. Owning the original, unedited pic is a good way of being able to prove your case.

But if this guy has any class at all, he should be willing to pony up a free clock for the photo.

Most places you go, this is a spendy activity. Start with the classifieds and see if you can find someone else into it. It'll save you loads in the long run.
