I am not Religious or Catholic, but I did find John Paul's struggle here in the last weeks sad. I thought he was a good leader and man that showed real true compassion for mankind.

Lets hope the next one will be half the man John Paul was.

Wow, guess I should turn on the news on the weekend sometime. Didn't know that he had actually died. That's too bad.

Tis a shame. I too, am not a religious person but the Pope was a kind, compassionate man and the entire world will feel the loss.

Yeah. I never follow up on the news, but today I saw that on MSN and thought it was a big issue for some people.

The Pope was very much into politics. He lobbied world leaders for change, improvements in relations etc. He was a hardliner though when it came to things like allowing women to be ordained into the ministry, abortion, and homosexuality.

In some ways he was very modern... in others it was still the 15 century.
