Napster announces it's
Napster to Go service.
No more paying for individual tracks, they offer 1 million songs with unlimited downloads for $14.99 a month when you download directly to a compatable portable mp3 player.
Unfortunately, if you own an iPod, your screwed. Apple won't allow Napster to connect to it.

Uh, its not good Bio. This is a record company-friendly maneuver, not artists and that's who iTunes is good for.
Napster has long been tits up and no buffet plan is going to change that. I don't have an iPod and I have no problem doing whatever I need to with my downloads (including making mp3s of them). Everything I download I burn to audio CD as a back-up. I just rerip the files to 192kbps and take my files every where I go on my Sony mp3 player.
In the meantime, the artists don't get the proper cut of the pricetag in the buffet system. eMusic ended up having to shitcan their buffet plan for the same reason. The record companies get the majority of the money this way.
Unsuprisingly, Napster is owned by the record industry.

I guess it doesn't matter to me much anyway... I don't own an mp3 player.
I still get my music the old fashioned way.... I buy CD's (in fairly large quantity, I might add). I just had to buy 3 more CD racks for the house (each one holds 216).
I did love napster back in the day... but it cost me a ton of money (I'd download tracks and if they were any good, I'd buy the CD(s). If not, I'd just delete them).

Dude seriously this is no big deal. If you download the MP3 to your hard drive you can later use the import option from iTunes and then use iTunes to port it into your iPod. A little convoluted but then using an iPod kinda is already; I mean NO click and drag! (without a 3rd party program that is).
