This site has some amazing before and after satelite shots, Banda Aceh (a few shots in) is really scary.
Also, if you want to see just about every piece of video shot "as it happened" this site has them (as well as lots of photos etc).
It wasn't until I saw a photo from that site with a pile of flotsam debris containing probably 50 bodies did I understand the magnitude of loss of life.
Our news, probably like the news in the US is quite sanitised from images like that, so though the photo is graphic, it really does give you a feel for the tragedy.

Locked in a room with you, 2 tigers and a gun with 2 bullets, I'd shoot you twice.

I have found that here in the states, if you want unbiased TV news reports the BBC News is our best source. I think that the non-us newscasts take more time researching the stories than worrying about keeping the ratings high.
NPR (National Public Radio) is also a very reliable source that doesn't worry about ratings. http://www.npr.org has a masive archives of all newscast that go back to 1996. You could find somthing on almost anything.
GOOD LUCK and remeber HAVE FUN!!!

That's because news in the US is more focused on the bubble gum stories.ZIPPER wrote:I have found that here in the states, if you want unbiased TV news reports the BBC News is our best source.

Flesh eating virus!!
George Bush Sr. doesn't like broccoli!
I realize they do this because the average American has the attention span of a gnat, but it drives me nuts. Most of our major stories which grab the national headlines shouldn't even be considered news (not on the national level, at least).
