For those of you who are interested - here are the pics from the trip Luke and I took to the Lego Store in Bellevue.

Since we're on the topic of Legoâ„¢, I thought this guy would be worth mentioning. Check out his Legoâ„¢ sculptures of Esher's optical illutions, they're amazing (the lowest four images on the list).

If I wasn't married, and spending so much money on cars (and computers), I would certainly be buying LEGO.

That is, if there was a store like THAT in Spokane.

I used to work at HP in Spokane (now Agilient). There were some guys on our production line that would leave at 10pm when they got off work, drive to Seattle that night and have dinner/breakfast at a relatives restaurant, visit, then drive home the next morning.

I too, have taken a few "day trips" to the coast from here. It's not bad now that the speed limit is up to 70 in most parts.

Not that the speed limit made a big difference prior to the change, it's just that now you don't risk getting caught for "speeding" if you are only doing 70.

*Sigh* If you get avbove 50mph here you're busted if you're unlucky. It's not fun at all.

Although once completely lost my patience towards that silly speed limit and drove pretty far maintaining the speed of 140mph. Among the best fifteen minutes of my life, but I doubt that I'll be doing it again though. The fine would probably be over $1500 accompanied with a lifetime disposal of my driving license.

I once made it from Spokane to Seattle in 2 hours and 58 minutes. No joke.

My best time was under four hours, but I don't know by how much, I wasn't paying attention, or driving.

Wait, in fact it was from Tacoma, at McChord AFB, to Spokane. The fog prevented the cross-state shuttle (KC-135) from flying. Se four of us hopped into a car and drove. The first leg was at or near 120 mph, about a half mile behind a VW with some gutsy woman at the wheel. She took the rest area just before Ellendsburg, so I had to slow down at that point.

One of the other guys decided to drive at that point too. . . something about needing to find his balls and being able to take a shit later.

Okay, it's on the first floor in the Bellevue Square Mall - here are the steps...from MapQuest. Starting from the Lazy-I...

1. Start out going SOUTH on N SULLIVAN RD toward E MARIETTA AVE. 0.8 miles
2. Merge onto I-90 W toward SPOKANE. 281.0 miles
3. Take the I-405 S exit- EXIT 10- toward RENTON/BELLEVUE. 0.2 miles
4. Merge onto I-405 N toward BELLEVUE/EVERETT. 2.2 miles
5. Take the N.E. 8TH ST. exit- EXIT 13B. 0.1 miles
6. Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp. 0.2 miles
7. Keep LEFT at the fork in the ramp. 0.2 miles
8. Take the N.E. 8TH ST. WEST ramp. 0.1 miles
9. Turn RIGHT onto NE 8TH ST. 0.6 miles
10. End at Bellevue Square @ NE 8th & Bellevue Way, Bellevue, WA 98004. The Lego Store's # is 425-451-2271.

What's up with that, sounds like a trap to get me lost.

Yeah, that off ramp there is kind of funky (I was hatched 'n reared over there) - the bottom line is that you follow the ramps that will get you to westbound NE 8th.

If I remember right:

#6 keeps you from going back onto I-405 northbound.
#7 keeps you from heading east on NE 8th.


Mudflap or Ironpants, among others, can correct me if I misremember.
