Here's something we haven't made in forever and finally got around to tinight... Russian Bullets.

Trust me... it's kick ass!

How to make Russian Bullets (warning... NOT heart healthy!)

Ingredients:
1 pack of bacon
5 medium yellow onions
4 large potatoes
5 cups flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk

Peel and cut the potatoes up into bite size pieces (potato salad style), boil them in a pot with some salt.

Chop the bacon up into 1/2 inch bits and fry them in a large pan or electric skillet. When the bacon is done but not totally crispy, remove it from the pan but keep the bacon grease in the pan.

Add onions to the bacon grease and cook until tender (stirring occasionally so they don't burn).

When the potatoes are almost done (potato salad style), mix up the following into gleece other ingredients into gleece:

Put the flour in a large mixing blow. Press a measuring cup into the center of the flower to make a little pit. Put both eggs (whipped) and milk into the pit. Slowly start mixing from the edges of the pit until all (or nearly all) of the flour is combined with the wet ingredients and has formed a large dough ball.

Grab thus said ball and start hacking it up in bite sized chunks with a knife into the boiling potato water.

When the gleece floats, it's done.

Add the bacon back into the onion mixture.

Drain the potato/gleece mixture and dish onto a plate. Cover with a healthy coat of the onion bacon mix. Pepper to taste. Enjoy!

Even my doggies like the leftovers.

Oh... and before Eddie starts whimpering that we didn't call him for dinner (he loves this too)... I saved you a lunch! :-)

Hehe... it's actually pretty damn good. I wouldn't want to make it a regular part of my diet though.
