Have you heard about the new U.S. Postal Service program that allows customers, for a premium, to print actual stamps carrying a photo of their choosing (as long as the requested image is not deemed objectionable)? Well, Uncle Sam may want to reexamine his quality control measures since we succeeded in ordering official postage featuring bloodthirsty foreign dictators, a labor racketeer, the Unabomber, executed Soviet spies Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, and others. In fact, we even scored 37-cent stamps with a picture of the famous Monica Lewinsky dress adorned with a little piece of Bill Clinton. Take a peek, these will look great on our telephone bill:

The overall service being provided, is kind of cute, though I have to agree with TSGs conclusion.

The bigger problem as I see it, is that if no -description- follows the request for a particular photo, the provider simply won't know. Looking at the photos myself, it was difficult to immediately distinguish some of them as noted war criminals, civilian criminals, etc. Some of the photos looked like regular clean-cut folks.

So I guess it just goes to show, even the best looking, best dressed people can still be scumbags. And some of the worst looking, worst dressed people, can be the nicest you'll ever meet.

I would say stamps.com is in a bit of a precarious position, and I think the USPS should do a bit more oversight. Just my opinion though.
