Stupid should be illegal (but in this case, you KNOW it's gonna hurt!)

Notice that this guy not only has the truck up on 4x4's, but is WELDING on the gas tank!

How did he get the truck tilted over that much in the first place?

i'd pray for the truck to fall. that sitting position looks painful enough. perhaps this is suicide, but he doesn't want it to look like suicide?

do we get before and after shots? perhaps a police report or two?

I think it's fairly obvious that this is a con-job folks. NOT REAL.

Even if those 2x4s were reinforced with steel rods through their core, they would not be strong enough to hold up that truck for longer than about two seconds, and certainly not at the angle those cormer are situated into the pavement. Would have splintered and shattered the first time the weight was put down on them. I have significant doubts about the tires on the backside holding that weight too, especially at that angle

Either there is a chain holding the truck up or some other kind of leverage is at work here. OR the HUGE different in contrast under the truck vs the treeline in the background suggests photoshop trickery. Damn good trickery if it is.

But there's a lot of ways to fool the eye, and this is too improbable to be believed.

It could be a fake, but I have personally supported a corner of a vehicle with a 2x4, for a prank, you jack up one wheel, put the 2x4 under it, the tire needs to be about .25 inches off the ground, when they try to pull away, the tire just spins, and they wonder WTF is wrong. 2X4's are suprisingly strong and these are 4X4's not 2X4's. The angle of the vehicle would reduce the weight on the wood too, most of the weight would be applied to the tires on the ground. From a physics point of view, this is real.

If anybody has a vehicle to try it with, I'll buy the 4X4's and take photos to prove it.

A 2X4 will support a chevy small block when it is about 30 inches long...ask me how I know. A Small block with Crank, pistons and heads weighs in around 500 pounds. That load is in the weakest direction of the wood. This one is in compression and wood is VERY good at that.

not sure whether its a con. i wouldn't tempt fate. he might walk out of his house and a truck land on him (it can be arranged ).

how would he like that then Mr.Con?

If you take a closer look, you will see the rear tire -is- deflected at the corner of the curb. This deflection would be about equal to the distance normally realized by the sidewall protrusion. i.e. the truck is actually resting on the -rims- and -not- the tires. Consequently, the curb is probably also keeping the truck from rolling over onto it's side. At the angle the truck is sitting, I think it arguable the rims contacting the curb are carrying about half the weight of the truck.

As for the 4x4s, just -one-, the longer one, would be necessary to hold the vehicle in the position indicated; the remaining half of the weight of the truck. The second shorter one was probably put into place as a "safety" (it is to laugh), and to keep the tipped up truck a bit more stable.

The truck itself appears to me, to be a simple light-weight third world job. I've seen these overseas in many different countries. Very much like an earlier Volkswagon Beetle; some sheetmetal, an engine and there you go. There just isn't much weight to speak of. Two burly guys could probably lift it -by hand-.

And that other someone is probably the person who took the photo, probably for insurance purposes. (heh)

MARIETTA, Georgia (AP) -- A drunken driver hit a telephone pole support wire that decapitated his passenger, police said.
He then drove 12 miles home and slept in his bloody clothes, police said, leaving the headless body in his truck.

A neighbor walking with his young daughter Sunday morning discovered Daniel Brohm's headless corpse in the truck in John Kemper Hutcherson's driveway and called authorities, said Cpl. Dana Pierce, county police spokesman.

Officers said they found Hutcherson asleep inside his home, visibly drunk and his clothes bloody, and later found Brohm's severed head at the crash site.

"It's hard for one to imagine that you would drive miles from a crash site to your home, turning in various directions, and yet not know what has happened to a passenger sitting next to you," Pierce said.

Hutcherson, 21, was charged with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and failure to stop at an accident with death or injury. He was jailed on a $100,000 bond; it was unclear Monday whether he had an attorney.

Police said Hutcherson and Brohm -- friends since high school -- were drinking at a bar Saturday night and left after Brohm said he felt sick.

Brohm, 23, apparently was leaning out of the window when Hutcherson hit the support wire about a mile and a half from the bar, but police did not know why.

Only on the BRHF could we turn a picture into a technical discussion... with added gore for a colorful bonus. :-)
