I woke up this morning and the oddest thing happened:
My leg doesn't hurt.
Well... it hurts, but it's a minor pain, not the "OH MY FUCKING GOD, PLEASE LET ME DIE NOW!!" hurt that it's been doing for the last few weeks.
This freaked my shit out.
So... I went to the doctor this afternoon. He poked me with a sharp stick (seriously), moved my leg in half a dozen directions, and then stated the following: "You're getting better"
Apparently, the mater ejected out of my spine when I ruptured my disk is being reabsorbed by my body (at least to some degree) and is no longer pressing on the nerve bundle like it was. Of course, this means I'm not on painkillers today for the fist time in over a month (and therefore can think somewhat straight).
I'd do a dance of joy... but I'd hate to mess it up.
I am, however, still due to go under the knife. I'll let you know more when I do.
Pain, pain, go away... come again some other day
