Ahhh... the difference between the US and the UK.
Here, steak is actually quite affordable. I get sirloins that are about an inch thick for $3.99 a pound (on sale... $4.99 a pound regular).
When Baldy moved here from the UK, he was amazed at A) how cheap the steaks were and B) how big they were.
He said in the UK, you get a tiny steak cooked the way they feel like cooking it and it's expensive. Here, they cook it the way you tell them to (or you send it back and they do it again) and the portions are generous.

You haven't been eating the right kind of steak.dribbles wrote:i find it chewey boring tasteless.
Had some in Argentina, WOW, tasty. Tender, LOTS of flavor, none of the growth hormones etc common in the meat in the US (and UK).
Kobé beef from Japan is about the best I have ever had. Fed nothing but grains, no hormones etc, and nothing but beer to drink, massage (not a misprint) every day, but >$100/lbs. Expensive, but unbelievable meal.

i was referring to the only steaks i liked. from marks & spencer (they've DISCONTINUED them)
they are actually $15 per tiny little slice of it. forgot what they were called. but they were nice. i personally can't eat any old steak it has to be ***the best*** or it tastes like nothing to me. therefore i am happy to shun meat.
