We hit the Suzuki and Yamaha dealers. She wasn't much taken by anything Yamaha had to offer, but was impressed with the look and feel of the Suzuki Intruder 1400.
Of course... that's bigger than my bike by a 100cc's (and would most certainly eat mine for lunch if we were to race!).
She's looking at the black and graphite one (as pictured), plus hard mount bags, windshield, etc.
We'll be hitting the Kawasaki and Honda dealers next so that she can check out what they offer... but the Intruder looks like it might be it.
