Frustration sets in

Post by bio » Fri Nov 21, 2003 11:44 am

I placed an order with Newegg on wednesday for a gig of Kingston PC2700 and it was shipped for a Monday delivery.

It's here today.

This sucks, because I won't be there when FexEx shows up, so they pry won't leave it.

Heh... if my wife finds the note attached to the door saying they tried to deliver... I'm a dead man! :D

Maybe she'll throw you an intervention for your technology addiction :P

I actually have a need for it, and by replacing the memory in my system, I can put my old RAM in my eldest son's machine, and his old ram into my youngest son's, and his old ram into the new server.

And speaking of the new server... we're actually starting work on it. It will be chock-full of all sorts of nifty new things (spam killing software, virtual domain controls, etc).

Should be groovy!

I'll be moving a couple of my domains over first (shitdanish.com and angieland.com) to test it. Then, after we're all satisfied that it's not gonna die, we'll migrate the rest of the domains over and bring it up as production.

This machine will become a firewall (complete with DMZ). I'm also adding in my own DNS server... so no more zoneedit for me (or for anyone else who uses it for hosting on this machine if they so desire).
