The opening arguments for the Senate trial were pretty convincing on the prosecution's part, and horribly inept for the defence.
To be fair, his whole legal team bailed on him a week before the trial and the new team had very little time to get things together (and no major firm would represent him). I guess this is what happens when you have a long running history of not paying your lawyers (or anyone else) for their work.
Not that it matters. Too many Senate Republicans are up for re-electon in 2 years, and they know that Trump's cult like following means that if they vote to convict, they will stand a near zero chance of winning (or possibly making the ballot) in the mid-terms. So much for justice.
