Don't let'em jerk you around any more, call the warranty company and request the address of another shop they will deal with, ask them to pay for towing and move the car to another shop to get it repaired. Why give these shitheads any more money than they already have...

The warranty company owns the heads so the shop has to give them up, you own everything else...if they keep anything its theft. They are jerking you around and lying to you. A month is long enough to rebuild the entire CAR, not just the heads...

Do tell the rest of us the name of this place; I don't want to do any business with them! Make sure you give the Better Business Bureau a report

Take out a full page add in the socialist review and detail your story...bad publicity will do more to change behavior than complaining to the owner.

The shop is Appleway Volkswagen, and the service manager is Tony Perkins and he was as much help as his lackey Jeff was. As for taking it elsewhere, I've tried that and can't find anyone who will touch the VW engine. The first mechanic I took it to, who changed the timing belt, tried calling around to see who would work on it and the only place that would do it is the dealer. Unfortunately we only have one VW dealer in town so I'm stuck. But I like the idea of the BBB, I'll look into it. I've also started calling VW on a daily basis requesting updates. And I'm going to have them go over exactly why they thought a new engine was in order. I've heard the warrenty place's explanation, now I want to hear theirs.

Well I finally have my car back. 5 weeks and one day later. What a mess that was. I ended up having to pay $271 for the whole deal, that includes my $100 deductable. And I will NEVER walk into Appleway VW ever again. Now I just need to write my letters and send them off to both Appleway's head office as well as VW's. Not that it'll do much good. And the bastards never even gave me a survey. I'm just glad to be done with them.

Well we drove it all weekend and it seems to be running fine. We also went out test driving cars as well :)
