To those who worked at Software Spectrum with me

Post by bio » Wed Apr 16, 2008 11:40 am

Ahh... the days at the gopher farm.

I found this cartoon and it took me back to the SSI days.

Those are days that I don't necessarily miss, but it was an experience (to say the least) and I met some good people there.

I could swear that poster was on the wall there. Not trying to be funny. I remember it.

Sweet Jesus. That made me shudder a little bit.

It was either back by the mail room, or by Jennifer Dunham's office.

Yes. The balloon was on the wall.

Ah...memories. The place has changed a lot, I can say that.

I put my memories of that place into a small box, then carried it down into the darkest, deepest part of the cube farm that is my psyche.

The uncontrolled urinating is a problem I haven't recovered from.

Yeah, I did not like that place. Scars? I have plenty.

heh, they missed Bio's cube in the picture....

It had it's ups and downs, but SSI revitalized my IT career. Of course, I got out while things were still kind of fun.

I'd have to agree with you on how SSI launched my career as well. Without those 3 years I spent there, I wouldn't have gotten to where I did.

And I bailed out right after it became "not fun" anymore. I saw the direction things were going and didn't like it. I was hire #46 in the support department. Of course, that number went way the hell up after that.

Ditto that.

If it wern't for SSI; I never would have met the person that gave me my first contract at Microsoft. Of course, like everyone here I worked my ass off for what I have now but that place certainly launched me to where I am now.
