They are nuts over here too. But not quite that nuts yet. I just hate filling up on a weekend...it is such a pain.

I don't understand why people have to jack up the gas prices in a time of need. Fupid Stuckers.

I'll be watching the earnings reports of the big producers.

If they report record earnings for 4th quarter... you'll know what went down.

for 1 gallon of gas you could probably get a pedal bike. wise investment in the 21st century. £1+ per litre here. $8 per gallon allmost.

Flying "J" Fuel Prices current as of 6am September06,2005
This is for Diesel
Cash Price* SUPPLY

MS, Gulfport I-10 Exit 31 $2.429 LOW

MS, Olive Branch HWY 78 and Bethel Road $2.779

MS, Pearl I-20/I-55 Exit 47 $2.979 LOW

LA, Greenwood I-20 Exit 3 $2.759

Not all the stations are chargeing outragous prices. These are from the Flying "J"a nation-wide truck stop station. I paid $3.01 Sat night in Post Falls, ID for Diesel.

It also states for the areas affected: Facility services are catering to emergency response personnel and are serving the general public on a limited basis....

I like to believe that most people are rational and can handle a little stress. But that isn't true and I know it. People are twitchy and nervous and on the drop of a hat will turn into a raging, screaming mob like you might see in a Sci-Fi flick. I'm just reminded why I ride a bike most places I go.

Fortunately, I get good mileage in my car and a tank will last me 2 weeks... longer if I limit my trips. I also have a full tank in the bike (yup... 4.8 gallons). That will give me about 200 more miles of driving before I need to fill anything up.

OTOH, consider locking gas caps

I generally have pretty good gas mileage for my year of car and the size of my engine. I have checked it like 5 times and it is right. I have a V6 14 gallon tank and get 25 MPG. I love it. Plus my car is wide...so I can haul people. But I don't know how long that is going to last with running to school every day and down to the college too. I might be screaming for money in a little while. My tank generally last 2-3 weeks.

1 gallon [US, liquid] = 3.7854118 liter

So... that's $5.30 a gallon Australian, or $6.90 USD per gallon.

Ouch!!
