I'm not sure if I posted this on the forum or not, but a week ago my boss came to me and said "build me an interface with graphics and charts and graphs".
"For what?" I asked
"Doesn't matter" she replied
"What kind of data are we displaying?"
"Doesn't matter"
"What kind of graphics do you want?"
"Doesn't matter"
<insert me falling into a cold dark place>
Well... I built a mock up of an interface (actually... I built 8 different ones). My boss loves them. She took them to marketing, they like them, and they're going to pick one (or pick pieces of several and combine them into one). I also found out what it's actually for now, and what kind of data to expect (which tells me what kinds of charts, graphs, and graphics to make).
Wouldn't have it been easier just to friggin' tell me at the onset?

Of course, I hate everything I make, so this made it doubly hard.
It would be like someone coming to you and saying: grab some 2x4's and build me something in the yard. Sure... you would build something... but the whole time you're doing it, you're thinking "this isn't what they want... this sucks".
Self doubt is a bitch.
