Talking of Linux...

Post by Eve » Thu Jan 06, 2005 12:45 pm

A few threads back, there was some linux discussion, which led me to think about how people pronounce linux. Sooooo many people pronounce it the wrong way.

How do you pronounce linux

Do you pronounce it as line -ux (eg standing in line-ux)

or as lyn-ux (woman's name lyn-ux)

Take your pick then hear Linus Torvalds pronounce it. :D

It's Leeee-nux.

But I usually use Lyn-ux, although I -started- years ago with Lie-nux.

I pronounce it "lyn-ux" (though sometimes I get sloppy and say "len -ux". Then again, I butcher most everything I attempt to say.

Mastery of the english language is not my forte.
