SOFC "Save Our Fish & Chips"

FISH and chip shops across the nation have rallied against calls by barmy animal rights activists to ban one of Britain's favourite dishes.

Vegetarian group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has traditionally campaigned against people wearing fur coats or the killing of farmyard animals.

Now it wants fish suppers taken off the menu because it says the tasty underwater creatures are "intelligent" and feel pain when caught.

PETA's Dawn Carr said: "We are not pulling any punches on this one.

"We don't think people should eat fish at all - and if that means they do not eat fish and chips then so be it.

I wonder how the Pope feels about this....

I ask, because I still remember "Catholic" Friday, when as a school kid, every Friday was some form of Sawdust Covered Fish sticks...

I guess "meatless Fridays" and little boy touching Priests are out???

I remember fish Fridays too.

I wonder how the Ents feel about those people from PETA, eating plants.

To which I say, God gave us the creatures to eat, so by golly, I'm not going to disappoint him.

There's a lot of research that shows plants can feel too.

WTF are we supposed to eat now? Long pig jerky?

PETA would like that.

Heh, when I first read that I saw "tasty underwear creatures".

Once again proving that I'm just as much a spectator as anyone else, just waiting for the next stupid thing to bubble to the top of my mind.
