Aceh and the Tsunami

Post by Rocketdork » Thu Dec 30, 2004 11:39 am

This website is from one of the hardest hit places in the Tsunami...Smimeulue. I am sure that the place is pretty much gone...but the website has provided me with about an hour of giggles. Its very wrong to laugh about this...but the site is priceless.

It's done in very well inglish!

i can't help but wonder how much we would be hearing about this if there hadn't been so many tourists involved

More than tourists.

Petra Nemcova (supermodel on the cover of SI swimsuit issue last year) was caught in the tsunami? She was missing but they found her clinging to a tree (for eight hours) with a broken pelvis, broken hand, and internal injuries. Sounds like she it going to make it but her photographer boyfriend was killed.

In case you're unfamilar with her... here you go:

Someone got the Tsunami on video.
Dave from Allentown sent us this clip taken by a Danish Gentlemen in Koh Lanta Thailand. It appears the destruction was not as bad at this location being video taped as with many other areas. Amazing how massive the size of the wave approaching was.
There's another one here.

Yeah, I'm sure that was small compared to the ones that really did some damage. Just read that the death toll is over 117,000 and rising.
