Why is it that every Christmas, by the end of the night I am incredibley pissed off?
Lucas isn't interested in doing anything with me that doesn't involve his toys. The cats are avoiding me. My dryer freaking sucks and it takes at least 2 hours to dry a normal load of clothes. No matter how hard I try I can't keep this damn apartment clean.
Did I mention that I won't have a job at the end of the week?

I guess this is one of those moments that have to happen to you so that your future can only be brighter??? You may have lost your last job, but you still have all your talents!
Your cats are just giving you space as they know you are upset, but are unable to fathom such shit as jobs, laundry issues, humans, etc...
I KNOW you will have a very nice new year... just saddle up and ride towards it.
I have always found that when my treasure ship won't come in, I have to swim out to it.
Perhaps this will help:
Dilbert's Office Prayer
Grant me the serenity
To accept the things
I cannot change;
The courage to change
the things I cannot accept;
And the wisdom to hide the bodies
of those people I had to kill today because they pissed me off.
And also,
Help me to be careful
Of the toes I step on today as they
May be connected to the butt
That I might have to kiss tomorrow.

Post-Christmas depression - you get all amped up and shopped up for Christmas, and when it's all over - bleah!
That's my take on it, anyway. I can relate.
Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.
