Show me the way to the next whisky bar

Post by mmeowgrl » Sun Jun 01, 2003 12:50 am

I'm sitting here sipping my 10 yr Aberlour, and it's pretty damn tasty. Not quite as good as that 18 yr Laphroaig (which I now know is pronounced La-froyg) JC and I had the other week, but still very tasty. I am hoping when I am in Vegas in 2 weeks that I will be able to try quite a few more kinds, vacations are all about the splurging.

VEGAS, Vegas... why are you coming here to Vegas! I have spent the last 5+ years trying to get out of here and every day thousands more come. Of those thousands at least a hundred transplant themselves here. Your just coming for fun correct? You don't want to stay do you? Still if you need some assistance in finding the next whisky bar while you are here let me know... there is only ONE of merit here. Now there are others but only one that you can have a truly memorable whisky experience.

Just for fun, to see the flashing lights and hear the all the blinging noise and go to some shows. I doubt we will leave the strip. We are tourists! Staying at the Excalibur, why - it's cheap and cheezy. I'm all about the Vegas cheeze.

Don't forget to collect all those porn trading cards that they hand out to every man, woman, and yes... child while you're on the main strip!

Morals? Pushaw!! This is Vegas, baby!!

Hehehe, I took so many of those home last time. This trip will be extra fun since my boyfriend has never been to Vegas before.

My 'little ones' love the Excalibur. However, I am warning you in advance do not eat in their buffet. For food eat at the better casinos: MGM, New York, Luxor etc. Oh, and try the Regent in Summerlyn they have an Irish bar there that has wonderful whisky.

The last time I was there, we rocked the buffet at the Mirage. Now this trip everyone tells me to go to the Mandalay Bay and the Paris for their buffets. This trip will be walking from hotel to hotel to bar to buffet back to hotel back to bar, etc, etc with some shows and sleeping mixed in there as well.

Both are good choices. My only real recommendation for you all things considered is that you drink water. Being from AK and getting here to Vegas now is a bit much for the nonacclimated system. No tap water mind you the mineral content from consuming tap water can give you kidney stones in no time flat.

I see that the temps there this week are in the 100's. The plan is to stay indoors during the daylight, and only go outside at night. If I get caught in 100 degree temps I will instantly evaporate, or worse yet, I might get a ray of sun hit me and make another freckle.
